Visitor Engagement

Heritage and Ecological Site

By visiting Espace Napaga, visitors will discover an exceptional natural site whose heritage value must be protected. As the only site in Gaspésie designated as both an archaeological and natural heritage site, Espace Napaga is a place of discovery and knowledge with great potential. Although open to the public to promote access to history and archaeology, the site remains a fragile environment that must be preserved. Therefore, visitors are committed to respecting the following guidelines during their visit:

  • I understand that the Espace Napaga site is private property managed by the Corporation of the Pabos Village.
  • I commit to visiting Espace Napaga with a minimal impact on the archaeological and ecological resources.
  • I commit to not touching any remains or artifacts present on the site or on display.
  • I commit to respecting the archaeological resources by avoiding altering the soil, disturbing the surface layer, excavating the ground in any way, or using a metal detector.
  • I commit to immediately informing a member of Espace Napaga staff if I inadvertently discover artifacts or remains, refraining from touching them, and clearly marking their location.
  • I commit to reporting any violations I may witness to the site staff.
  • I commit to staying on the designated paths.
  • I commit to not taking any resources, whether archaeological or natural, and to leaving the site in its original condition after my departure.
  • I commit to disposing of my waste in the designated bins.

Your cooperation is invaluable in preserving the richness of the archaeological site at Espace Napaga, so that our knowledge can be shared with future generations and our natural environment can be preserved.
